What you get

You post often. You keep running out of ideas.

The Trend Scout finds what people are talking about this month.

It searches Reddit, Hacker News and YouTube for the last 30 days on your topic. It ranks the results by upvotes and comments. It takes about a minute.

You pick one. Claude writes the post. Then it saves your post as a draft in Typefully.

It is two skills inside Claude Code. One finds trends. One saves drafts.

The research is free. No keys. Saving drafts needs your own Typefully account. About 15 minutes.

One thing to know

Typefully can publish right away if you say "post this now" or "schedule it". Always say "draft only".

Without keys there is no X data.

Reddit sometimes blocks the search. Use a specific topic, not "what's trending".

You choose the thread yourself.

Saving drafts needs your own Typefully account and API key. An API key is a password that lets one tool talk to another.

Who this is for

You post regularly. Founders, coaches, marketers.

This replaces scrolling feeds to guess what people care about this week.

What you need

  • Claude Code, with Node 18 or newer
  • Python 3.12 or newer (the Mac's built-in 3.9 is too old): brew install python@3.12
  • A Typefully account and API key (in its settings, under API)

Set it up

Step 1: Add the research skill

Type these two lines inside Claude Code, one at a time. If it asks to read your browser cookies for X, choose "Skip X".

/plugin marketplace add mvanhorn/last30days-skill
/plugin install last30days

Step 2: Add the Typefully skill

It installs per folder. So run it in the folder where you will use Claude Code.

npx skills add typefully/agent-skills -y

Step 3: Create a free account at Typefully

Create an API key in its settings. Then save it so the skill can use it.

export TYPEFULLY_API_KEY="your-key-here"

Use it

Ask Claude:

"Use last30days to research AI search SEO content marketing, then draft a post from the best thread and save it to Typefully as a draft only."

You see this:

36 items: Reddit 12, Hacker News 12, YouTube 5, Web 4, GitHub 3
r/digital_marketing: "Is SEO becoming harder for beginners because of AI?" 39 pts, 62 comments
Typefully draft created: status draft, not published

If something goes wrong

"Requires Python 3.12+". Run brew install python@3.12. Then reopen your terminal.

"Nothing solid this window". Reddit blocked the search. Try a narrower topic.

"Skill may be outdated". A 30 day freshness check. Safe to ignore.
