# The Taste Detector

Install 288 design skills, 80 review agents and a set of always-on rules straight into Claude Code, so it stops producing generic AI-slop copy and design and starts flagging it instead.

## What it does

The Taste Detector installs a library of skills, review agents, and always-on rules directly into Claude Code (it also works with Cursor and Codex), so that when it drafts a landing page, a pitch deck, or a paragraph of copy, it has actual opinions about typography, color, brand voice, and generic AI phrasing instead of defaulting to the statistical average of everything it has seen.

Once installed, you get 80 specialized agents (design-reviewer, copy-editor, brand-guardian, visual-qa, and more) you can point at your own work, 288 skills covering domains like typography, color systems, product framing, and competitive teardowns, and 12 rule files that act as always-on quality gates.

## Who it is for

Anyone producing content or design output with AI, a marketer polishing AI-drafted copy, a founder building a pitch deck in Claude, an agency reviewing AI-generated landing pages, who is tired of everything reading like the same purple-gradient, Inter-font, "let's dive deeper" AI output and wants Claude Code itself to start catching that before it ships.

## What it is and what it runs in

- **It's a bundle of skills, review agents, and rule files.** Plain markdown and JavaScript, no app to download.
- **It runs in Claude Code**, where the installer copies everything into `~/.claude`, so it's available across all your Claude Code projects. It also works with Cursor and Codex.
- **It's free.** No API keys, everything runs locally.

## Before you start

- git installed, to clone the repo
- Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex installed, since the installer copies files straight into `~/.claude`

## Install

Open Claude Code (or your agentic tool) and run these steps.

### Step 1: Get the code onto your machine

This downloads the repo and moves into its folder.

```
git clone https://github.com/Dragoon0x/everything-design-taste.git
cd everything-design-taste
```

### Step 2: Install everything into Claude Code

This copies all 288 skills, 80 agents, and every rule set into `~/.claude/skills`, `~/.claude/agents`, and `~/.claude/rules`.

```
./install.sh --profile full
```

## Run it

Ask Claude to use one of the installed agents against your own work, for example:

```
Use the copy-editor agent to review this headline:
"Unlock synergistic growth in today's fast-paced marketplace."
```

Claude comes back with something like:

```
Flagged: "unlock synergistic growth" (generic AI phrasing)
Flagged: "today's fast-paced marketplace" (cliche opener)
Suggested rewrite: "Grow revenue without adding headcount."
```

## Troubleshooting

**"Unknown profile" error when running `install.sh`.** The installer only accepts `minimal`, `standard`, `full`, or `product` after `--profile`, spelled exactly like that. Check for a typo.

**`./install.sh: Permission denied`.** The script needs to be executable. Run `chmod +x install.sh` once, then try the install command again.

**Only some skills or agents show up in Claude Code afterward.** Check which `--profile` you installed with. Only `full` installs all 288 skills and 80 agents, the other profiles (`minimal`, `standard`, `product`) install a smaller curated set on purpose.
