What you get

You have no idea what your competitor's website says that yours doesn't.

The Rival Mapper finds out.

It reads their whole site. Then it reads yours.

Then it hands you a simple table:

  • Where they beat you
  • Where you beat them
  • What to fix first

No more clicking through their pages and taking notes for hours.

Free plan. One key. About 15 minutes.

One thing to know

Firecrawl (the tool that reads websites) only fetches the text. Claude does all the thinking. So pick a rival that really sells what you sell.

Numbers on crawled pages can show up as "0+". Don't quote stats from them.

Every page it reads costs 1 credit. Always set a page limit, or your credits drain fast.

Who this is for

You are an owner, marketer, freelancer or agency. You want to know what a rival says that you don't.

What you need

  • Claude Code
  • Node.js
  • A free Firecrawl account and its API key (a secret password that lets Claude use your account)

Keep the key private. Never paste it anywhere public.

Set it up

Step 1: Create a Firecrawl account

Create a free account at Firecrawl, then copy your API key from its dashboard.

Step 2: Add Firecrawl to Claude Code

One line. It tells Claude Code to start Firecrawl when it needs it. Put your own key where it says your-key.

claude mcp add firecrawl -e FIRECRAWL_API_KEY=your-key -- npx -y firecrawl-mcp

This makes Firecrawl a connector (called an MCP server) that Claude Code can use.

Step 3: Restart Claude Code

Close it. Open it again. If you skip this, the Firecrawl tools never show up. The first start is slow while it downloads.

Use it

Open Claude Code and say:

Use Firecrawl to map competitor.com (limit 100), crawl the pages that matter (limit 12), and crawl my site yourdomain.com (limit 10). Save the results to files, then give me a gap map: where they are stronger, where I am stronger, and what to fix first.

You get a table like this:

Their page Gap Suggested fix
Challenge page States time per day, I don't Add "30 minutes a day"
Quick answers FAQ They have one, I don't Add a short FAQ
...

If something goes wrong

No Firecrawl tools show up. Restart Claude Code. Then check your key was in the Step 2 command. A .env file does nothing here.

Credits drain fast. You crawled with no limit. Always set one.

Claude runs out of room. Crawl results are big. Tell it to save them to files and summarize.
